…joined together in an unforgettable happening

The International Opera Awards – “Oscar della Lirica”, conceived by Alfredo Troisi and promoted by Fondazione Verona per l’Arena, aims to emphasize and to re-launch Grand Opera, by spreading the art of Opera singing that is first of all a way of life and culture, a school for continuous sacrifice, engagement and devotion.

The Award will involve, together with the recognition for the greatest artists, the new generation of singers.

Opera is a cultural legacy for humanity, it joins the past and the future, it has deep roots in the Italian and European history and offers its endless charme to new interpretations, new talent’s curiosity and new directive and scenographic capabilities.

The event, besides being an official award for singing categories, is made above all of music and entertainment, and the protagonists of international music panorama, that with wisdom and passion contributed to the spread and development of Opera all over the world, will perform on stage.

The Verona Arena will host artists and lovers in a celebrative evening, and will tribute those people who were able to greatly represent Opera: this particular kind of show joins drama and poetry, theatre and acting by putting in the middle of this “humanism” the human voice. This voice, educated and raised as an artistic instrument, becomes sing and delight.
